How the Mala GPS tracker works
Position detection:
The device determines its current coordinates using GPS. It achieves the best level of accuracy when it is outdoors in direct view of the sky. Inaccuracies may occur when the tracker is Indoors or in dense urban areas.
Data storage and transmission:
In modes with active tracking, the position is recorded and stored every 10 seconds. A summarised position is then sent to the mobile app once a minute.
Sleep mode:
If the device is not moving, it switches to power-saving mode to conserve battery energy. It automatically reactivates when movement is detected.

Choose a mode according to the situation and how you plan to use the tracker. Battery endurance and tracking accuracy are significantly influenced by the correct setting of modes.
Walk with trip recorded / Dog search
For regular walks, hiking, and monitoring recommended daily activity.

The position is recorded every 10 seconds.

These positions are stored in the device and the summarised position is sent to the app every 1 minute.

After movement ends, the recorded route is automatically saved in the History section of the app and the device then switches to power-saving operation.

If the device is not moving, it checks for mode change requests every 4 hours.

Walk without trip recorded
Situations where you do not need a detailed route and want maximum battery life.

Only the start and end of movement are recorded.

The detailed route is not saved.

To change the mode, the device must be in continuous movement for at least 1 minute, or it must be placed on the recharging mat.

If the tracker is not moving, it checks for mode change requests every 4 hours.

Dog in the garden
Monitoring your dog in the garden, an enclosure, or at home. You can set a geofence to warn you if your dog leaves a defined area.

If the dog is inside the geofence, positions are not sent to the app in order to save battery energy.

When the geofence is crossed, a notification arrives within 2 minutes and the device automatically switches to Walk with trip recorded / Dog search mode.

After returning inside the geofence, transmission of positions stops and the recorded walk (route) is saved in the History section.

Active dog search or immediate movement tracking.

The position is recorded every 5 seconds.

It is also immediately sent to the app every 5 seconds and displayed in real time.

The tracker remains active constantly, which significantly increases battery consumption.

Power off
Situations where you do not plan to use the tracker for a longer period and want to turn off the device completely.
Warning: It is not recommended to turn off a tracker that you do not physically have with you. If you do not have the tracker with you, it will not be possible to turn it on again if it is needed.

After sending the request from the app, the tracker remains active for another 10 minutes.

During this time, the mode can be changed.

After 10 minutes, the device turns off completely.

Turning it back on is only possible by physically placing it on the recharging mat.
